RPM season!!

I don’t know if you realize this, but we have turned the corner and landed in Railroad Prototype Modeler (RPM) season!

There are a dozen RPM events in the next three months, plus the big Prototype Rails event in Cocoa Beach, Florida to kick of 2025. Check over the RPM Calendar and make plans to attend one of these events. Plan to bring a few display models, too!

I’ll be presenting on Team Tracks and Team Yards at two upcoming RPM meets. The Mid Atlantic RPM is just days away. It’s loaded with presentations across a couple of days and the home layout open house tour is stellar. It’s a great event to recharge your hobby mojo for the fall. The DoubleTree by Hilton Baltimore-BWI Airport is looking forward to hosting the RPM. I hope to see you there!

In October, I’m headed to RPM Naperville/Chicagoland. This is one of the longer running RPM events and returns to the fabulous Northern Illinois University Conference Center. Time to make your plans!

I recently gave my Back Dating Plastic Freight Car Models presentation on NMRAx. It was recorded and available to view on YouTube. The link should land you right before the presentation begins. I cover some hardware upgrades, especially K brake systems, as well as lettering considerations. I hope you enjoy it and use the information to upgrade some of your models.

I’m looking forward to your MARPM clinic on team tracks and team yards. Over the two decades, I have been collecting many ideas and opinions about their modeling and operation.

I’d ‘d hoped to chat with you ever since I saw the clinic announcements. Regretably, I have not found your personal email address and phone number amidst your great blog — hence this personal note in this comments section.
If possible, please send your contact information before we meet next weekend; I’ll be there Friday evening, but I’d appreciatef
