I attended the Mid-Atlantic Railroad Prototype Modeler meet recently and had a great time. There were some great presentations and plenty of fine modeling on display.
I left early on Friday to visit a few layouts and battle metro DC traffic. Had it not been for an hour delay on the Beltway, I could have seen at least one more layout.
I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Andrew Dodge, Todd Herman, and Bernie Kempinski and touring their layouts. Andrew’s and Bernie’s O scale work is inspiring and I admired Todd Herman’s progress on prototype scenes.
Saturday and Sunday were filled with presentations, model displays, door prizes, and searching through a vendor’s parts racks. I gave a new presentation on using maps for layout design that seemed to help several modelers.
I created a new photo gallery for the MARPM event with about 140 images. Those will give you an idea of the event but it doesn’t beat attending and meeting everyone.
I’m focused on RPM Naperville coming up very soon on October 16-18. I’ve got a presentation ready and need to pick models for display. Early registration ends on October 3rd. I hope to see you there!
