2026 RPM season

Another RPM season is beginning! A couple of railroad prototype modeler (RPM) events have already occurred this year. The calendar ahead is chock full of more.

At this writing, there are seven events scheduled before the end of April. One of them is in Sydney, Australia! The RocRPM in Rochester, NY, is next. The organizers will have operating sessions on a Free-Mo layout at the RPM location.

I’m very excited for RPM Valley Forge in March. It’s 20 miles from my Philadelphia home and this will be the first time I’ll have my layout open for an RPM. I’m also giving a clinic on team yards and team tracks. Thirty clinics are confirmed and a few more will be added. A layout design help desk will be set up with Layout Design Special Interest Group members available for consultations. I hear the hotel rooms have been filling up. It’s time to make your plans to attend RPM Valley Forge to break out of winter.

A model display room is a big part of these events. Completed projects and works-in-progress in all scales are displayed and discussed.  I’ve shared several photo galleries from the RPMs I’ve attended.

There are many more prototype modeler events this year. Check the RPM Calendar to see what is happening. Maybe there’s an RPM near you.

If your RPM event is missing from the RPM Calendar, please leave me a comment below. Include the event name, dates, city, state, venue, web link for the event page, and a contact email. I’ll add it to the calendar.
