I think many of us are ready to shake off the winter weather. I hope you have been keeping busy pushing projects forward on your workbench and layout. Railroad Prototype Modeler (RPM) season is just around the corner!
In addition to modeling projects, I’ve been busy working with the RPM-East planning team. We are counting down the weeks before that event kicks off in Youngwood, Pennsylvania. It’s located only 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh and just a few minutes away from the New Stanton exit of the PA Turnpike.
Thirty-seven speakers will cover a wide range of presentations across two days. The vendor room is filling up and several model railroads will be open for Sunday self-guided layout tours. The $40 early registration ends on February 28th, so act soon to save a few bucks. RPM-East location details, registration, and more can be reviewed at the website.
Don’t forget to bring some of your models for the display room. These can be completed or in-process. I usually bring several 1926 era freight cars. Check out the photo gallery from the 2023 RPM-East.
I’ve been enjoying RPM meets for many years. It’s always great to see old friends and meet new modelers. The events recharge my modeling energy with new modeling techniques and prototype info.
I’m also presenting on team tracks and team yards at RPM-East. If you are coming to Youngwood, be sure to flag me down and say hi!
But wait, there’s more!
There are seven RPM events scheduled before July 1st. Check the RPM Calendar to see what fits your schedule and location. I keep this updated as best as I can. Drop me a comment if I’m missing an event and please include a link to the details.
