After wrapping up the Westerfield Models B&O M-15b and M-15d boxcar kits, it’s time for something new. Like many modelers, I am not lacking for a new project.
I recently assembled the ladders seen in the opening photo. These are Yarmouth Model Works etched brass ladder stiles with 18-inch grabirons from my parts supply. These are earmarked for a boxcar upgrade. Since they are now ready to install, I guess I should start on the rest of the work.
I thought I’d start another resin freight car kit. The parts are laid out above. This one will be a departure from other kits I’ve built. It is HO scale and a freight car, but just what is it? I’ll leave the question open to ponder.

Looks like a pickle car to me.
Looking at all the panels, I’d have to guess that this is an early phosphate car.

Westerfield Heinz pickle car or Clausen . Could do yellow, green and box car red, all sort of lime green or all box car red.
