It’s been a busy month that won’t be slowing down any time soon. I enjoyed the RPM Chicagoland meet in late October then came home to close on a home purchase. That’s right; I’ll be moving again soon!

Pushing ahead
I send a big Thank You to the readers who shared comments on The Blahs post last week. I started work on a couple of box cars the next day. I also broke out some stored equipment and ran a coal train on the Salt Lake Route club layout in nearby Nolensville on Monday evening. Not much has been happening with the Wheeling Freight Terminal since the new lights were installed. A Labor Day weekend away was followed by a wicked head cold that kept me down for a few days. My wife and I have been looking at homes to purchase, which is very exciting but it doesn’t inspire work on the current layout. I’ve got the “hobby blahs” at the moment. Continue reading “The Blahs”
Fitting the Layout
I almost titled this post as Moving Along – part 3, but we are beyond the moving phase. The Wheeling Freight Terminal layout sections got onto their legs this week! Well, not all of them are on their legs as a problem was discovered. The layout is slightly longer than the space. I will admit, I did not measure the room before we committed to the house rental but I also did not know the actual long dimension of the layout. Yup, I did a job on this one. Moving Along, pt 2!
What an action-packed month this has been! As mentioned in the previous post, we are moving. The image above was taken on June 20th at our El Paso home as the household goods were moved out to the driveway before being packed into the moving van for a 1450 mile trip to our new Tennessee home.
